DISCOVER THE HOUSE
The house has a 40,000 liters water tank, which usually lasts for about 2 weeks with 6 people. If you don’t waste it, water can even last more. It’s rain waiter, not drinkable. During the hot and dry seasons water is delivered by a tank truck. Gas is provided both to cook and heat water, again it’s delivered as needed. The tank can contain 40 liters, enough to make a fully operational restaurant run for a month!

Electricity is provided by an eolic turbine, solar panels and a stand by gas generator which all feed a bank of batteries and an inverter which in turns feeds the 110v electrical system in the house. Every room has electricity, enough to plug computer, radio, dvd player, phone chargers, cameras etc.

Please to turn off the lights when not in use so as to conserve energy. Do NOT use: transformers, hairdryers, toasters, etc. Anything that uses fuses will make the electrical system collapse for an entire day!

INTERACT WITH NATURE A Mayan couple, don Isidro and donna Elisa, look after the house and keep garden and beach clean; they also do housework. Towels and sheets are replaced once a week or more often if necessary; they are carried to the town to a laundry. The house has no washing machine!

Under the palapa
Never leave the house without informing don Isidro, even if you go out for dinner or for a small trip. They’ll move on the hammocks under the palapa, and wait for your return; if it’s late, it's no problem as they’ll sleep there.

There are two small pure half-breed mayan dogs on the property, excellent watchdogs; but if you’re scared of them, don Isidro will keep them on the leash during your permanence there. Roseta Camps is my alter ego, she lives in Tulum pueblo and will be at your complete disposal for any question or problems. She comes once a week to check on everything.
